Massachusetts Councils on Aging – Massachusetts Councils on Aging (MCOA) is made up of 350 municipal COA’s and senior centers. This nonprofit membership association supports the 1.7 million older adults, 60 and over, in Massachusetts to lead healthy, purposeful lives. Massachusetts Department of Veterans’ Services – The Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs (VA benefits) are accessible to any who have served in our nation’s military. These benefits are available to the individual but also a spouse. The link above will help you find your local Veterans’ Service Officer (VSO). A VSO is a veteran in your community who can help you and your family access benefits, including service-connected disability claims, home loans, burial benefits, and more. In many cases, these benefits can help defray costs of in-home care.
Central and Western Massachusetts Resource Sharing (CWMARS) – CW MARS is a diverse multi-type library consortium made up of over 100 member libraries primarily located in Central and Western Massachusetts.
Rebuilding Together – This resource is a nonprofit committed to providing free home modifications and repairs for the elderly and disabled.
American Cancer Society – The local office of the American Cancer Society (ACS) provides services and raises awareness and funds for research, prevention, detection, and treatment of all forms of cancer. They can be reached at 1-800-227-2345.
The Alzheimer’s Foundation (Waltham) – The Alzheimer’s Foundation provides services and education to individuals, families, and caregivers affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and funds research for better treatment and a cure. American Heart Association/American Stroke Association – The American Heart Association is a national voluntary health agency to help reduce disability and death from cardiovascular diseases and stroke. The American Stroke Association is solely focused on reducing disability and death from stroke.
The ALS Association – The ALS Association is the only national not-for-profit health agency dedicated solely to the fight against ALS through research, patient and community services, public education, and advocacy. The Association’s affiliate network includes chapters in communities throughout the nation. The ALS Association – Massachusetts Chapter was a recipient of the Griswold Gives Grant from the Jean Griswold Foundation in 2019.
American Parkinson’s Disease Association – The American Parkinson’s Disease Association nationwide network provides information and referral, education and support programs, health and wellness activities, and events to facilitate a better quality of life for the Parkinson’s community. This grassroots structure that distinguishes APDA from other organizations serving people with Parkinson’s disease.
National Multiple Sclerosis Society – The Greater New England Chapter of the National MS Society works to improve the quality of life for people affected by MS in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont and raise funds for critical MS research.
United Cerebral Palsy – The UCP provides programs and services that improve the independence, productivity, and quality of life of people with disabilities and their families.
