Meet Your Team
James Potter
Director of Agency Advancement/Owner
James Potter joined Griswold Home Care after graduating from Appalachian State in 2014. He developed a love for working with the elderly as a child, often playing guitar for nursing home residents. His passion deepened through a personal journey when his grandfather battled Lewy Body Dementia. James witnessed his father's struggle in navigating the challenges of in-home care services for Norman Potter Sr. At the time, both James and his father, Norman Potter, shared entrepreneurial ambitions and devised a plan to work together after James's graduation. In 2013, Norman and Patricia Potter purchased Griswold Home Care of Winston-Salem, with James committing to join the business long-term alongside his father. In August 2021, Norman was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic colon cancer and is currently battling the disease. As of June 2024, James works alongside two business partners with extensive industry backgrounds to continue Norman’s legacy.
Hannah Yoon
Executive Director/Owner
My career for aging began in high school as an activity’s assistant at an assisted living facility, eventually leading me to a degree in a Bachelor of Science from UNC Greensboro. My early interest in this field was shaped by my family and grandfather, a pastor, and my family’s long-standing commitment to serving the aging population in our community. I focused on geriatric care, studied dementia care in Norway, and contributed to dementia research. After an internship at a CCRC in Florida, where I developed a dementia specific curriculum and a memory care program, I became the Memory Care Manager and introduced a comprehensive day program. Returning to Winston-Salem, NC, I worked for a local esteemed continuing care retirement community as the Director of Memory Care and later served as a Healthcare Administrator, implementing resident-centered programs. With 19 plus years dedicated to improving the lives of older adults, my career has been driven by a deep commitment to advancing dementia care and aging services for our community. Home care is truly rewarding after my time in long-term care. I cherish the opportunity to support families in their own homes, ensuring they receive the best quality of life possible for as long as possible. It's a beautiful experience to make a meaningful difference in their lives.

In Your Community
We’re in This Together
Our team is dedicated to improving the well-being of our community through serving those who need assistance to live where they love. We are active in the neighborhood, so you’ll see us around town at events, participating in associations and meetings, and supporting local organizations inside and outside the care industry. We firmly believe in our ability to create a happier and healthier place to live through the connections we make with the people in our community.
Jean’s Story
In 1982, Dr. Jean Griswold founded our company at her dining room table in a small suburb of Philadelphia. She found out that an elderly woman in her community had died of complications because she had no support system for care. Jean felt this was an easily preventable tragedy and was driven to find a solution by pairing Caregivers with those who could not thrive in their homes alone. She was a true visionary, establishing one of the first and most successful non-medical home care organizations in the country, despite being wheelchair-bound due to Multiple Sclerosis. Over 40 years later, her legacy lives on nationwide.
Scholarship
Where would we be without Caregivers? Their selflessness is astounding, yet they are often overlooked and underappreciated. The Jean Griswold Foundation is dedicated to supporting Caregivers, the backbone of the care industry. We provide educational scholarships so Care Professionals can further their training, enhance their skills, elevate their careers, and better assist the people they serve.
