In Your Community – Wilmington
At Griswold Home Care for Wilmington, our commitment to seniors goes beyond just providing excellence in senior home care. We are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of the seniors in our community, their families and the other care professionals who work with them.
We believe this requires strong community connections and leadership.
Community Engagement and Leadership
Our owners, Mike and Dorothy Griffin, have called Wilmington home for over 20 years. They have appreciated the variety of ways they have been able to partner with others to serve their community.
Mike has served as an elder, deacon, and Sunday school teacher at their home church and is a current member of C12.
Dorothy currently leads the New Hanover Health Care Marketers’ Network (NHHCMN) which she has been a member of since 2012. In partnership with a number of other senior care professionals, Dorothy brought a chapter of Adult Children of Aging Parents (ACAP) to the Cape Fear region in 2022 and also facilitated a unique support group helping family caregivers find respite through art.
Our Valued Community Partners
We are proud to collaborate with several outstanding organizations that share our dedication to senior care and community support. Here are some of our valued partners:
The New Hanover County Senior Resource Center
Griswold is honored to be a preferred home care agency for the New Hanover County Senior Resource Center’s family respite grant program. The Center has a number of programs and activities that help connect seniors in our community to each other, to volunteer opportunities, and to a variety of needed resources. A true gem for New Hanover County seniors and their family members.
Assistance for Life Care Management Services
Care management is especially helpful when families do not live in the same location as senior loved ones. Assistance for Life has provided comprehensive assessments, care management services and advocacy for our shared clients. They also offer a comprehensive driving fitness program for those concerned about a senior’s driving safety.
Golden Pointe Transit Plus (GPTP)
While Griswold caregivers can provide accompanied transportation as part of their care services, those who are looking only for transportation services have shared with us that they appreciated the personal level of customer service they received from Golden Pointe Transit Plus.
Corporate Chaplains of America (CCA)
Desiring to care well for those who care for our clients, we are honored to have partnered with Corporate Chaplains of America.
Lower Cape Fear Life Care (LCFLC)
Local non-profit that shares our heart for educating our community. A local resource for hospice care, palliative care, grief support, memory support, family caregiver support and more.
New Hanover Health Care Marketers’ Network (NHHCMN)
Griswold has been involved with this coalition of senior care professionals since 2012.
