Shout Out to Our Caregivers

Did you know today is National Caregivers Day? The third Friday in February is set aside to honor our amazing caregivers providing personal care, safety supervision, and companionship to the seniors in our community.

Our caregivers really make a difference, not only in the lives of their clients, but also in the lives of the family members. They give the peace of mind that comes from knowing someone is with their loved one.

While caregiving is rewarding, we also know it is not easy! It takes dedication and attention to really be there for our families, learning the small details like how they like their morning coffee, and the big details like how to make them comfortable when they are recovering from a stroke, fall or injury. We also know the patience it takes to answer questions asked for the tenth time as if they were being asked for the first time.

We invited one such caregiver, Virginia “Ginger” Gallahan, to represent our caregivers at a breakfast and virtual meeting this morning with caregivers from across the nation and Griswold Home Care CEO Michael Slupecki.
