Beth Copeland, MSN, CSA
Director
Beth Copeland, Director of the Kent/Sussex County office has over 35 years of experience in nursing and health care. She has a Master of Science in Nursing from Duke University. Her broad experience has resulted in her passion for the elderly and specifically helping families care for their spouses, parents or other loved ones with affordable, quality care.
Like many in the senior services field, Beth’s personal experiences have significantly shaped her passion to serve the elderly and disabled populations in Kent and Sussex County. Beth helped care for her grandfather with cancer and congestive heart failure during the many years of his illness. His only wish was to be cared for at home, but there was no home care where he lived, and his wife was unable to care for him by herself. Beth’s grandfather died in the hospital, but desperately wished he could have been at home with the support of live-in care. Beth’s grandfather’s wish has driven her passion for offering exceptional care for others in their homes.
Beth enjoys traveling, hiking, any time outdoors and reading.

Compliance and Communications
I have been working with Griswold Home Care for over a year; I am in constant contact with caregivers, making sure they are up to date with paperwork and in compliance with state licensure requirements. Although I thoroughly enjoy working here, I am actually in school to be an elementary-aged teacher. I love working with kids and have been coaching travel softball for 4 years now, and I have one year of coaching high school girls' basketball and middle school softball in the Cape district under my belt. I love what I do, giving back to the community and giving young girls all the opportunities I had and more when it comes to sports and having someone to relate to in all walks of life. I am also a huge book lover, and in my perfect world, I would be a book reviewer 🙂

Although new to in-home care, I’ve been a nurse for 26 years, most recently in the hospice setting. I found myself at Griswold in 2023 while taking a break from the medical field. Starting in our Lewes office as a “jack of all trades”, I am excited to be able to get back to a nursing role at our Salisbury location! My favorite part as a nurse has always been being able to assist, advocate, support & comfort patients/clients & their families. Compassionate in-home care for those who want support to live where they love is what we at Griswold stand by. I look forward to guiding our clients into this step of their journey. When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with family & friends.

Meet Rupert & Piper, our office stress relievers and love bugs. Both are miniature Dachshunds and are stellar beggars at lunchtime and lap dogs during stressful times. They are always around to bring a smile to any face!
In Your Community
We’re in This Together
Our team is dedicated to improving the well-being of our community through serving those who need assistance to live where they love. We are active in the neighborhood, so you’ll see us around town at events, participating in associations and meetings, and supporting local organizations inside and outside the care industry. We firmly believe in our ability to create a happier and healthier place to live through the connections we make with the people in our community.
Jean’s Story
In 1982, Dr. Jean Griswold founded our company at her dining room table in a small suburb of Philadelphia. She found out that an elderly woman in her community had died of complications because she had no support system for care. Jean felt this was an easily preventable tragedy and was driven to find a solution by pairing Caregivers with those who could not thrive in their homes alone. She was a true visionary, establishing one of the first and most successful non-medical home care organizations in the country, despite being wheelchair-bound due to Multiple Sclerosis. Over 40 years later, her legacy lives on nationwide.
Scholarship
Where would we be without Caregivers? Their selflessness is astounding, yet they are often overlooked and underappreciated. The Jean Griswold Foundation is dedicated to supporting Caregivers, the backbone of the care industry. We provide educational scholarships so Care Professionals can further their training, enhance their skills, elevate their careers, and better assist the people they serve.
