Meet Your Team
Amanda Rodriguez
Director
Amanda Rodriguez is an ambitious and hard-working person who cares deeply for others. Amanda’s main focus in Public Health is to help put an end to systemic inequities. Her decision to work at Griswold is largely motivated by the legacy of its founder, Jean Griswold, and her vision of what public health could be.
Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Amanda moved to the East Stroudsburg area eight years ago. It was here in Pennsylvania that she realized just how many hurdles there were for those who needed services. These injustices to the most at-risk and vulnerable populations motivated Amanda to continue her education and to help create access for those in need. She worked in various healthcare administrative roles for the last decade, from insurance billing to becoming an intake caseworker. In 2020, Amanda earned her Master's Degree in Public Health through East Stroudsburg University's accelerated program.
Amanda has always been a creative and compassionate person; to those who know her, it is no surprise that she has pursued a field where she helps others. Her creativity serves as an aid to her problem-solving abilities, allowing her to approach solutions in a unique way. Amanda is also the oldest of five siblings and a proud mother of three children. Amanda's ability to care for others and advocate for their needs is a quality that has been a natural and intrinsic part of her life.
In her free time, Amanda enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, cooking, and finding adventure everywhere she goes.

In Your Community
We’re in This Together
Our team is dedicated to improving the well-being of our community through serving those who need assistance to live where they love. We are active in the neighborhood, so you’ll see us around town at events, participating in associations and meetings, and supporting local organizations throughout The Pocono Mountains, Stroudsburg, and the surrounding area, inside and outside the care industry. We firmly believe in our ability to create a happier and healthier place to live through the connections we make with the people in our community.
Jean’s Story
In 1982, Dr. Jean Griswold founded our company at her dining room table in a small suburb of Philadelphia. She found out that an elderly woman in her community had died of complications because she had no support system for care. Jean felt this was an easily preventable tragedy and was driven to find a solution by pairing Caregivers with those who could not thrive in their homes alone. She was a true visionary, establishing one of the first and most successful non-medical home care organizations in the country, despite being wheelchair-bound due to Multiple Sclerosis. Over 40 years later, her legacy lives on nationwide.
Scholarship
Where would we be without Caregivers? Their selflessness is astounding, yet they are often overlooked and underappreciated. The Jean Griswold Foundation is dedicated to supporting Caregivers, the backbone of the care industry. We provide educational scholarships so Care Professionals can further their training, enhance their skills, elevate their careers, and better assist the people they serve.
