With over four decades of experience and a storied legacy of compassion and integrity, we focus on the people we meet and the connections we make right here in our own community. It is our privilege to refer Caregivers who support your unique needs with respect, empathy, and dedicated attention so you can Live Assured, without the weight of worry.
Griswold is an award-winning pioneer in pairing you with qualified in-home Caregivers. We believe Care Professionals are the foundation of our success, and our commitment to innovation is based on our desire to improve the lives of everyone we touch as we serve this community. Our referred Caregivers may provide services like personal care, homemaking, companionship, and support for those with conditions, illnesses, or injuries.
Meet Your Team
Bill Kohler
Director
Hello, I am Bill Kohler, independent owner and operator of your local Griswold Home Care office. My wife, JoAnn, and I have called Carmel, Indiana home for over 30 years. We also love to spend time in our vacation home on the Florida Gulf, north of Clearwater. We have two adult sons and four wonderful grandsons.
My family has witnessed the role and need for home care firsthand. JoAnn’s mother was in need of care but was very resistant to having a stranger in her home. She eventually passed away alone in her home. This experience had a profound effect on our family. Unfortunately, neither JoAnn’s mother nor our family was able to experience the benefits of in-home care. This is why we are so committed to referring caregivers who make this beneficial service available to other families in need of help and care.
Most of my professional experience has been in business and operations management. While my career was advancing and I received good job offers, I turned them down to remain in the community that my wife and I love and to pursue a new challenge. Home care interested me because I see it as an underutilized and badly needed service. I joined the Griswold Home Care franchise family because I was drawn to the company with the “Golden Heart.” I am proud to refer caregivers to offer my neighbors in need a valuable service while also building long term equity, flexibility and control in my own business that I can one day pass on to my sons.
Sandy Smith
Administrative Coordinator
Sandy Smith joined our administration staff after a 7 -year career in home health care.
During her time as a health care provider, she became a strong advocate for Parkinson’s Disease and Rock Steady Boxing, where she assisted her client’s participation in this wonderful program. She also advocated for Parkinson’s caregivers and shed light on their needs as well.
Sandy has a compassion for home health care patients and their providers and is enjoying matching the many personalities together to provide assistance in the growing need for elderly care in your own home.
Joe Kohler
Marketing
Joe Kohler is our Marketing Director, with responsibility for marketing programs, brand management, and community liaison. Prior to joining Griswold Home Care, he worked in logistics handling strategic business development and operations for over 20 years.
Throughout Joe’s work history, he has kept the goal of empowering his organization and their thought leaders to differentiate themselves by driving working solutions for exceptional service. He is excited to bring this advantage to home care.
He lives in Noblesville with his fiancee, their three children, and two lazy dogs. In his free time, Joe likes to golf, sports fish, and coach his son’s baseball team
In Your Community
We’re in This Together
Our team is dedicated to improving the well-being of our community through serving those who need assistance to live where they love. We are active in the neighborhood, so you’ll see us around town at events, participating in associations and meetings, and supporting local organizations inside and outside the care industry. We firmly believe in our ability to create a happier and healthier place to live through the connections we make with the people in our community.
Jean’s Story
In 1982, Dr. Jean Griswold founded our company at her dining room table in a small suburb of Philadelphia. She found out that an elderly woman in her community had died of complications because she had no support system for care. Jean felt this was an easily preventable tragedy and was driven to find a solution by pairing Caregivers with those who could not thrive in their homes alone. She was a true visionary, establishing one of the first and most successful non-medical home care organizations in the country, despite being wheelchair-bound due to Multiple Sclerosis. Over 40 years later, her legacy lives on nationwide.
Scholarship
Where would we be without Caregivers? Their selflessness is astounding, yet they are often overlooked and underappreciated. The Jean Griswold Foundation is dedicated to supporting Caregivers, the backbone of the care industry. We provide educational scholarships so Care Professionals can further their training, enhance their skills, elevate their careers, and better assist the people they serve.
