Meet Your Team
Renato Maiorana
Director
Hello, I am Renato Maiorana, owner and operator since 2007 of Griswold Home Care Medina County. Two very serious family health crisis and these experiences motivated me to get involved in a new life endeavor. It was clearly evident after our life changing experience and as in most families, we are totally unprepared and often overwhelmed when faced with similar situations, in caring for their loved ones.
We were caught up in caring for loved ones and still raising our children, commonly referred as Sandwich Generation. Dealing with all this just adds more stresses on the family support system. Families are at their most vulnerable point and not always ready for the next step or prepared. Families are just trying to deal emotionally with the illnesses of their loved ones. This can be a very trying time.
I feel blessed to have the opportunity to employ great caregivers to help senior citizens with everyday needs. We have caregivers who have truly given families their lives back by providing services that allow families to spend quality time together.
At Griswold Home Care, we understand that it takes a very special type of person to be a caregiver and provide the variety of services and personal support required of a home care provider. Therefore, only the most highly qualified, compassionate and capable caregivers are able to work for us. We use an extremely comprehensive screening process which screens our 95% of all applicants.
For more information contact our caring & compassionate office team. They can help determine your specific needs. We can assist in making a difference by keeping you independently living at home.

Billing Manager
After moving back to the area in October 2018, I joined Griswold in 2019 looking for an opportunity to help her parents with their business. After watching my parents take care of others and the passion they had for it. I realized the importance of caring for loved ones, in a home environment, this is a real opportunity to make the most for our seniors, making their home the first choice. Offering care and support with help they need to live in a place they love. I’m excited about the opportunity to grow our family business and help make a difference.
Kathy Gensel
Assistant Manager
After retiring with 30+ years’ experience in Corporate Management, I joined Griswold in 2021 looking for an opportunity to help others. Having taken care of my mother for over three years who had Alzheimer’s, I realized the importance of keeping a loved one home in the environment they are most familiar with. As someone who personally experienced the emotional and physical challenges of caring for an older loved one, I have empathy and compassion understanding our clients needs, their families, and caregivers.
In Your Community
We’re in This Together
Our team is dedicated to improving the well-being of our community through serving those who need assistance to live where they love. We are active in the neighborhood, so you’ll see us around town at events, participating in associations and meetings, and supporting local organizations inside and outside the care industry. We firmly believe in our ability to create a happier and healthier place to live through the connections we make with the people in our community.
Jean’s Story
In 1982, Dr. Jean Griswold founded our company at her dining room table in a small suburb of Philadelphia. She found out that an elderly woman in her community had died of complications because she had no support system for care. Jean felt this was an easily preventable tragedy and was driven to find a solution by pairing Caregivers with those who could not thrive in their homes alone. She was a true visionary, establishing one of the first and most successful non-medical home care organizations in the country, despite being wheelchair-bound due to Multiple Sclerosis. Over 40 years later, her legacy lives on nationwide.
Scholarship
Where would we be without Caregivers? Their selflessness is astounding, yet they are often overlooked and underappreciated. The Jean Griswold Foundation is dedicated to supporting Caregivers, the backbone of the care industry. We provide educational scholarships so Care Professionals can further their training, enhance their skills, elevate their careers, and better assist the people they serve.
