2024 Food Bank March

Thank you to those who have helped donate and joined Team Griswold for the 15th Annual March for the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts. This was our second year walking as a team. As a team we exceeded our goal, raising $1,903.

The walk was the total distance of about 43 miles and over a span of two days. This all started 15 years ago when Monte Belmonte pushed an empty shopping cart to raise money for the food bank, creating a movement of people supporting him and marching with him from Northampton to Greenfield.

We were able to be part of a great movement that is helping our community and spreading awareness. Both days began early in thr morning and were very long walks. As the Wicked movie is out in theaters this year, Monte was decked out both days dressed as Glinda on day 1 and Elphaba on day 2.

The first day was ideal for a long walk from Springfield to Northampton. But the second day was different. Rain or shine, the march went on. Day two started out dry, but come around 9am the rain was coming down. While the walkers were drenched, the mood was warm and joyous! Thank you to all who participated and congratulations for completing the Annual March for the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts.
