Director
Hello I am Cecilia Greene, owner and operator of your local Griswold Home Care office. The Essex County team is comprised of highly trained non-medical home care professionals. Our office was founded in 1997 and is located in the heart of South Orange, NJ. I have 25 years of experience in the home care and senior care industry. I was a caregiver for eight years before transitioning into the role of office manager for Griswold Special Care in 1998. In January 2011, I became the Director of Griswold Home Care in Essex County.
My hands-on experience as a caregiver and over 13 years as an office manager have given me great insight into what families look for in a Home Care Provider and a professional Caregiver. The most important thing to me is ensuring each client’s satisfaction, happiness and well-being. Every caregiver referred by my office is licensed by the State of New Jersey as a Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), is bonded and insured.
The RN on staff, Mrs. Gilmartin, has been with Griswold Home Care for over 8 years and has over 40 years experience as a Registered Nurse (RN). She also works with seniors in Long Term Care Facilities. As an RN supervisor, she screens and mentors each Caregiver, and then supervises the care services that they provide. Our newest addition, Mrs. Gaury Febles, works dutifully as a Case Coordinator, making sure every client is carefully matched with an appropriate caregiver to ensure satisfaction and compatibility for you and your loved one.
In Your Community
We’re in This Together
Our team is dedicated to improving the well-being of our community through serving those who need assistance to live where they love. We are active in the neighborhood, so you’ll see us around town at events, participating in associations and meetings, and supporting local organizations inside and outside the care industry. We firmly believe in our ability to create a happier and healthier place to live through the connections we make with the people in our community.
Jean’s Story
In 1982, Dr. Jean Griswold founded our company at her dining room table in a small suburb of Philadelphia. She found out that an elderly woman in her community had died of complications because she had no support system for care. Jean felt this was an easily preventable tragedy and was driven to find a solution by pairing Caregivers with those who could not thrive in their homes alone. She was a true visionary, establishing one of the first and most successful non-medical home care organizations in the country, despite being wheelchair-bound due to Multiple Sclerosis. Over 40 years later, her legacy lives on nationwide.
Scholarship
Where would we be without Caregivers? Their selflessness is astounding, yet they are often overlooked and underappreciated. The Jean Griswold Foundation is dedicated to supporting Caregivers, the backbone of the care industry. We provide educational scholarships so Care Professionals can further their training, enhance their skills, elevate their careers, and better assist the people they serve.
