Hello, I am Brian Rummelhart, independent owner and operator of Griswold Care Pairing for Eastern Iowa.
I am a native of Iowa City, Iowa. I live here with my wife, Lisa, and our wonderful son and daughter. Both Lisa’s parents and my own are in their mid to late 70’s. Our aging parents have shown us firsthand the needs of seniors and the potential benefit of home care. I was especially close to my own grandfather who lived to the age of 96. I enjoy spending time with older adults and have always felt compelled to help my neighbors in need.
My wife works as an administrative assistant at the local Catholic Elementary school. Prior to joining the Griswold franchise family, I spent over 30 years in the medical supply distribution industry. I began working for a local company but later left to start my own medical supply business, Heartland Medical Supply. I ultimately sold the business because I was spending too many hours away from my home and family. It didn’t take long for me to redirect my focus toward senior care. I was drawn to the opportunity to grow a business that would also provide a valuable and much needed service to my community.
I am organized and extremely driven to follow through with everything I begin. Combined with my compassionate nature and ability to understand the needs of others, rest assured that my office will refer Caregivers who will offer clients and their families the dedicated care, attention and affection that they deserve.
We rigorously screen all Caregivers who seek to join our registry; fewer than 5% of all Caregivers who seek to join our registry are accepted. We want you to feel comfortable and confident that Griswold is the right choice for you.

Jean’s Story
In 1982, Dr. Jean Griswold founded our company at her dining room table in a small suburb of Philadelphia. She found out that an elderly woman in her community had died of complications because she had no support system for care. Jean felt this was an easily preventable tragedy and was driven to find a solution by pairing Caregivers with those who could not thrive in their homes alone. She was a true visionary, establishing one of the first and most successful non-medical home care organizations in the country, despite being wheelchair-bound due to Multiple Sclerosis. Over 40 years later, her legacy lives on nationwide.

Where would we be without Caregivers? Their selflessness is astounding, yet they are often overlooked and underappreciated. The Jean Griswold Foundation is dedicated to supporting Caregivers, the backbone of the care industry. We provide educational scholarships so Care Professionals can further their training, enhance their skills, elevate their careers, and better assist the people they serve.
