Hello, my name is Anne Seglem, owner and operator of your local Griswold Home Care office in Colorado Springs and Douglas County. I am a Registered Nurse and Certified Senior Advisor. My husband, Mark Seglem, is a distinguished 20-year Navy veteran. Together, we’ve been lifelong volunteers in our community.
I think it is important to share why we became involved with non-medical home care. I saw the need for care and help when I worked in hospitals and an outpatient clinic. I noticed that seniors’ basic needs often were not taken care of and a lot of times there was no family in town to help. I never imagined owning my own home care business, but constant reminders while working as a nurse convinced me that I was led to this service. My background is in critical care. As an owner that is also a nurse, I am in the unique position to offer my clients professional advice and I encourage them to call me if they have a questions. It is equally important to me that all my caregivers know that I am always available for them. The caregivers realize that I care just as much for them as for my clients and they are brought on my team only if I would place them in my own home with my parents. I am very involved with my clients and know them well. I or my Care Coordinator make sure we visit the clients regularly to see that they are doing ok, if their needs have changed, if they are happy with the care, and anytime that the client needs to see us. My passion for my clients and our top notch team of caregivers is what makes such a difference in the lives of those I serve. My goal is to see all my clients happy and enjoying their life and their independence as much as possible…most importantly, in their own home.

Jean’s Story
In 1982, Dr. Jean Griswold founded our company at her dining room table in a small suburb of Philadelphia. She found out that an elderly woman in her community had died of complications because she had no support system for care. Jean felt this was an easily preventable tragedy and was driven to find a solution by pairing Caregivers with those who could not thrive in their homes alone. She was a true visionary, establishing one of the first and most successful non-medical home care organizations in the country, despite being wheelchair-bound due to Multiple Sclerosis. Over 40 years later, her legacy lives on nationwide.

Where would we be without Caregivers? Their selflessness is astounding, yet they are often overlooked and underappreciated. The Jean Griswold Foundation is dedicated to supporting Caregivers, the backbone of the care industry. We provide educational scholarships so Care Professionals can further their training, enhance their skills, elevate their careers, and better assist the people they serve.
