Veterans Care: Honoring Those Who Served

As a proud member of the VA’s Community Care Network, Griswold Home Care is committed to helping Veterans and their families navigate the VA system, access benefits, and find the support they deserve. We guide Veterans through the often complex process of applying for benefits and ensure they receive the care they’ve earned. Supporting ARC Montgomery County: A Lifeline for Caregivers

Griswold Home Care is honored to support ARC Montgomery County, a vital program that provides free respite care to unpaid, live-in caregivers of adults over 60. As a trusted home care provider on their approved list, Griswold offers essential relief to caregivers, allowing them to rest and recharge. Volunteering with Local Villages: Aging-in-Place, Together

We believe in the power of community, which is why our team volunteers for local Villages—volunteer-led groups that help neighbors age in place with dignity and independence. Griswold Home Care is a proud supporter of Chevy Chase @ Home, one of the oldest and most active Village Networks in Montgomery County. Our staff volunteers at vaccine clinics and participates in local events, educational workshops, and more, working alongside other community members to promote safe aging and social connection.

Memberships & Networking: Strengthening the Senior Care Community

Griswold Home Care for Chevy Chase is deeply involved in several local organizations, always striving to improve care options and connect with others who share our mission. We are the Greater Bethesda Chamber of Commerce members and actively participate in the Senior Marketing Group. Our involvement includes presentations on the differences between home care and home health care, sponsoring the Health & Wellness Expo, and serving on the Board of Directors.

We are also engaged with GROWS (Grassroots Organization for the Wellbeing of Seniors), a collaborative effort focused on enhancing the lives of older adults in Montgomery County. Our team regularly participates in networking events and explores new programs and services available to local seniors.

In addition, our director, Erin Pickrell, volunteers with the Rotary Club of Bethesda-Chevy Chase, helping to organize community service projects such as the annual YMCA Thanksgiving Day Run fundraiser, holiday gift drives for local children, and ongoing support for organizations like the Stroke Comeback Center, Nourishing Bethesda, and the JCA Kensington Clubs.

Community Engagement & Special Initiatives

Griswold Home Care is dedicated to supporting the arts and wellness in our community. Recently, we attended a moving art exhibit featuring work from artists diagnosed with dementia. This exhibition was part of the Opening Minds Through Art (OMA) program, an intergenerational initiative that helps individuals with cognitive decline express themselves through creative outlets. We were proud to sponsor this exhibit with the support of our director, Erin Pickrell, and the Rotary Club of Bethesda-Chevy Chase.

Additionally, we sponsored a breakfast and musical performance for the Gorlizt Club, a local support group for individuals diagnosed with early-onset dementia. These events provide an essential space for connection, support, and the joy of music for those navigating the challenges of dementia.
