MaryAnne Murray
Owner
Maryanne Murray, Chair of the Jean Griswold Foundation, has more than 20 years experience with Griswold Home Care. She initially worked for Jean Griswold in the Lower Merion, Penn. office, learning from the founder of our non-medical home care company. "If you care about the people--the caregivers and clients--you will be a success" Jean repeated. Wanting to be an owner, Maryanne bought the Delaware territory, winning many awards including "Franchise of the Year" from the IFA and the SBA person of the year for Delaware in 2005. Maryanne recently sold her Delaware offices to the directors of those offices; she is now the Owner and Director developing our office here in lower Montgomery County, Maryland, with he daughter. "I have found my calling in Griswold Home Care in helping seniors stay safely in their homes."
Erin Pickrell
Director
I grew up watching my mother make a difference in Delaware communities, working with Griswold Home Care for over 20 years. Our founder’s mission of providing every family the benefits and rewards of affordable, non-medical home care in the comfort of their own homes was ingrained in me from a young age. When I had the opportunity to bring Griswold Home Care to my community in Maryland, I knew that I wanted to serve the seniors in my community with the same care I had watched countless others receive from exceptional caregivers.
With a background of working with small non-profits, I have a passion for making a positive impact in the lives of individuals. My goal is to provide the best experience possible to clients and caregivers. My passion for service influences everything we do, helping to create an engaged community to provide the best in-home care.
After seven years in DC, I now live in Kensington, Maryland with my husband and young son. I love being close to the museums and monuments of downtown while working for our unique communities in Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Kensington, Garrett Park, Takoma Park, Glen Echo, Cabin John, and more

In Your Community
We’re in This Together
Our team is dedicated to improving the well-being of our community through serving those who need assistance to live where they love. We are active in the neighborhood, so you’ll see us around town at events, participating in associations and meetings, and supporting local organizations inside and outside the care industry. We firmly believe in our ability to create a happier and healthier place to live through the connections we make with the people in our community.
Learn MoreJean’s Story
In 1982, Dr. Jean Griswold founded our company at her dining room table in a small suburb of Philadelphia. She found out that an elderly woman in her community had died of complications because she had no support system for care. Jean felt this was an easily preventable tragedy and was driven to find a solution by pairing Caregivers with those who could not thrive in their homes alone. She was a true visionary, establishing one of the first and most successful non-medical home care organizations in the country, despite being wheelchair-bound due to Multiple Sclerosis. Over 40 years later, her legacy lives on nationwide.
Scholarship
Where would we be without Caregivers? Their selflessness is astounding, yet they are often overlooked and underappreciated. The Jean Griswold Foundation is dedicated to supporting Caregivers, the backbone of the care industry. We provide educational scholarships so Care Professionals can further their training, enhance their skills, elevate their careers, and better assist the people they serve.
