Care Around-the-Clock
You Have Options for Ongoing Support
Home Care looks different for every family and care around-the-clock is available in various ways. Read on to learn more about your choices to make an informed decision. Around-the-Clock care is not available in all locations; please contact your local office to help guide you through your options.
Live-In Care
Live-In Care means the Caregiver physically moves into the client’s home and is given bathroom access and a private bedroom. Care Professionals in these situations often form long-term relationships with their clients and provide continuous care, aside from breaks and sleep. Live-In Care is ideal for clients who live alone or have care needs that require attention throughout the day.
Overnight Care
Overnight Care gives clients and families peace of mind that a Care Professional is standing by to provide support during the overnight hours. Caregivers can assist clients if they are having a hard time sleeping, experiencing medication side effects, or need a reassuring ear in the middle of the night. They can also help with personal care tasks and prevent falls throughout the night by assisting their client if they need to move around. Families who utilize Live-In Care may add an overnight Caregiver to support the client when the primary Caregiver sleeps.
24-Hour Care
Clients who use 24-Hour Care benefit from continuous support through a team of Caregivers, 24 hours a day, every day. This differs from Live-In Care because Caregivers are designated certain hours of sleep time. 24-Hour Care provides two or three Care Professionals on 12- or 8-hour shifts who are awake during the entire shift to provide ongoing care. 24-Hour Care arrangements with Griswold can include taking detailed client notes and coordinating care with other providers (like hospice or home healthcare).
