Companion care

At Griswold Home Care for Bucks & Montgomery Counties we offer a variety of different care options to our clients. This month, we’d like to highlight our Companionship / Companion Care.

What is Companion Care?

Companion Care is one of our essential care options, in which your Caregiver will stay by your side and go with you to any outings you may have. This could be attending a grandchild’s birthday party, a doctor’s appointment, running errands, or anything else you’d like to go to.

Companionship Care doesn’t just happen outside the home though, while home the Caregiver may assist in writing cards or emails, playing board games, and providing consistent lively conversation.

A more exhaustive list of how a Griswold Caregiver can provide companionship with you includes but is not limited to, going shopping and running errands, visiting friends, prompting and reminders, safety and security, travel to appointments, help with writing cards, notes, and emails, accompaniment to social events, celebrating birthdays, lively conversation, games, projects, and scrapbooking.

Is Companion Care right for you?

Connection and social engagement are vital for our physical health and emotional well-being. Interacting with others improves cognitive function and physical resiliency, reduces stress and depression, and creates a sense of belonging and purpose. Quite simply, companionship makes us healthier and happier.

If you or a loved one are missing out on that social engagement while stuck at home with a condition, illness, or injury Companion Care might be just what you need. Our Caregivers will provide that accompaniment to those who are missing it. Just because you are homebound does not mean you shouldn’t be able to experience all the benefits of Companionship.

Example Companion Care Activities

One of the most popular activities to do with a Companion Caregiver is to visit a local park. Here are a few of our favorites in Bristol, PA as an example:

  • Bristol Township Municipal Park – Bristol Oxford Valley Rd, Bristol, PA 19007
  • Bristol Wharf – 100-148 Basin St, Bristol, PA 19007
  • Silver Lake Nature Center – 1306 Bath Rd, Bristol, PA 19007

If you think Companionship Care would be right for you or a loved one, please reach out to us today. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have and can schedule one of our gifted Caregivers for a shift within 24 hours of your call.
