Meet Your Team
Manisha Shrestha
Director
My name is Manisha Shrestha, and my journey with Griswold Home Care began in February of 2009. I have had the pleasure of working with the corporate-owned office, Baltimore and Howard county, for 4 and a half years and the franchise office, Anne Arundel, Kent, and Queen Anne’s county, for 5 years.
After a month training with my Director at the Baltimore and Howard county office, I opened my first case, and I knew this was my passion. I am meant to serve elderly clients, understand their needs, challenge myself, and help them to live in their own homes. I really enjoy my work and cherish each and every visit with my clients. I intend to carry the Griswold legacy on for many more years to come.
Rita Cook
Director
Rita Cook is the Director of Anne Arundel, Kent, and Queen Anne’s counties. She was born and raised in Glen Burnie, Maryland. After finishing high school, she worked for 3 years as a nursing assistant for an area nursing home. This has helped her to better assist her caregivers in the field. She then attended 2 years at Anne Arundel Community College before attending Maryland General School of Nursing and graduating from there in 1987. Right after nursing school, she was hired at her area hospital where she worked for 12 years in different departments of the hospital. At the same time, Rita took in a friend with MS and cared for her for 10 years.
In 2002, Rita began working for Griswold Home Care and held the position of care coordinator before being promoted to senior care coordinator. She has been with Griswold Home Care for 16 years while also caring for her father until his passing in 2009 and caring for her mother until her passing in 2017. Her passion has always been caring for and helping others. Her dream was to either own an assisted living home or home care agency. She is now living her dream.
Rita loves being part of a company that provides her with the ability to send excellent caregivers to client’s homes so they can remain in a place they love and enjoy a better quality of life.
In Your Community
We’re in This Together
Our team is dedicated to improving the well-being of our community through serving those who need assistance to live where they love. We are active in the neighborhood, so you’ll see us around town at events, participating in associations and meetings, and supporting local organizations inside and outside the care industry. We firmly believe in our ability to create a happier and healthier place to live through the connections we make with the people in our community.
Jean’s Story
In 1982, Dr. Jean Griswold founded our company at her dining room table in a small suburb of Philadelphia. She found out that an elderly woman in her community had died of complications because she had no support system for care. Jean felt this was an easily preventable tragedy and was driven to find a solution by pairing Caregivers with those who could not thrive in their homes alone. She was a true visionary, establishing one of the first and most successful non-medical home care organizations in the country, despite being wheelchair-bound due to Multiple Sclerosis. Over 40 years later, her legacy lives on nationwide.
Scholarship
Where would we be without Caregivers? Their selflessness is astounding, yet they are often overlooked and underappreciated. The Jean Griswold Foundation is dedicated to supporting Caregivers, the backbone of the care industry. We provide educational scholarships so Care Professionals can further their training, enhance their skills, elevate their careers, and better assist the people they serve.
